Zerynth studio Mac OS doesn't let me register device

Hello
I’m a student from the University of Salerno taking the Internet of Things class.
I’m using a macbook pro running the latest version of Mac OS Catalina (10.15.3) and I’m using Zerynth studio [Version 80.0.3987.122 (3987.122)] (r2.4.2). I’m encountering issues with the register a device function, I’m trying to register an esp32 (DOIT esp32 DevKit v1). I also have a windows 10 laptop and I was successful in registering and virtualising my esp32 device there but every time i try in Mac OS this is what appears [error] Can’t burn bootloader! --> Can’t convert ‘NoneType’ object to str implicitly.
Other details about my macbook : My device is a macbook pro 2017 with touch ID, I have both firewall and fileVault turned on but I allowed every prompt regarding zerynth studio.
Thanks in advance.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Apparently solved
The issue was with a driver which I didn’t have on my machine
(USB to UART bridge VCP)
